What distinguishes a diving watch?
The diver's watch is designed in such a way that it withstands the water pressure/temperature differences on the one hand and offers additional functions when diving on the other.
=> MY TIP:
If you actively use a diver's watch and the watch regularly comes into contact with water, have it checked regularly - i.e. annually - for leaks .
➡ Tightness is not a permanent property!
readability
A clear readability of the time during the dive - especially when it is dark. To ensure this, the hands and the hour indices are coated with luminous material.
rotating bezel
With the rotating bezel , the diver can see how long he can stay under water. It is easy to read and only rotates counter-clockwise - this is for your own safety.
Few case openings
Diving watches rarely have chronograph functions . Which is also understandable, since the watch offers more attack or incidence surfaces where water can penetrate. These are housing openings for the pushers, for example.
Screw threads on case back & crown
The screw thread for the case back and for the crown is extremely important for diving watches . They ensure that the case is protected as much as possible against any water entering the watch case.
housing material
The case material for diving watches is more solid and therefore more robust. In particular, the ingress of water not only puts a special strain on the body of the wearer, but also on the watch. Especially when water enters, deformations can occur in not so solid watch cases, which can affect the tightness.
Additional function helium valve
Another additional function is the helium valve, which the Rolex Sea-Dweller or Omega Seamaster watches, for example, have. This is a safety valve that allows helium molecules to escape during the decompression phase.

FAQs for buying your luxury watch
Everything about the seller
How do I see if the online shop is trustworthy?
Adjusters for trustworthiness are reviews from customers. Ratings are collected from Google, Ebay, Chrono24.
Another plus is if the online shop is a Trusted Shop. Trusted Shops costs the shop operator money and imposes conditions on the shop - both during initial qualification - and at regular intervals.
Are checked:
Identity & Accessibility
Security & Privacy
Revocation & Return
Products & Costs
Order & Transparency
Service & shopping experience means a positive customer experience - ie the shop must be rated at least 3.0 by the customers.
Another important criterion is that a responsible person/owner is named in the imprint of the shop, which you can also google. A landline phone number and/or a shop are also to be rated positively.
