Our used Cartier classics
Cartier Santos
The story of Cartier Santos is a fascinating journey through the world of watchmaking and style. Its origins date back to 1904, when Louis Cartier personally designed the first Santos watch for his friend, the famous Brazilian aviation pioneer Alberto Santos-Dumont.
The Cartier Santos was a revolution in the watch world as it was one of the first wristwatches designed specifically for the needs of pilots. Its rectangular case and striking dial with Arabic numerals offered excellent readability, even while flying. This unique look made the Cartier Santos an instant legend.
Over the years, the Cartier Santos has undergone various iterations and designs, while always maintaining the watch's distinctive features. It has become a symbol of elegance and style and has established itself as a timeless icon in the world of Cartier watches.
Today's models in the Cartier Santos series continue this long tradition, combining Cartier's historical heritage with cutting-edge technology and precise craftsmanship. They are not just timepieces, but expressions of style and innovation in the present. Thanks to the innovative bracelet technology, the straps on the watch can be easily changed.
Cartier Tank
The story of the Cartier Tank is a captivating journey through the world of watchmaking and style. This legendary model was first introduced in 1917 and is a testament to Cartier's innovation and visionary thinking.
The Cartier Tank was a radical departure from the round watches that were common at the time. Its rectangular case was inspired by the clean lines and symmetry of a tank, earning it the name "Tank". This unique design set new standards in the watch design world and made the Cartier Tank an instant success.
Over the years, the Cartier Tank has seen different variations and styles, from the Tank Française to the Tank Américaine. Nevertheless, the characteristic features of the watch, such as the rectangular case and the clear dial, were always retained. The Cartier Tank has become a symbol of elegance and style and has established itself as a timeless icon in the world of watches.
Cartier Pasha
The Cartier Pasha - A masterpiece of watchmaking with a rich history. It was first designed by Louis Cartier in 1932 and is considered Cartier's first waterproof watch. Its origins lie in a special request from the Sultan of Marrakesh, also known as Pasha, who wanted a water-resistant watch to wear while diving. In 1943, the Cartier Pasha was officially added to the Cartier range.
The Cartier Pasha was not only waterproof, but also equipped with a screw-down crown protector and a protective grille over the dial. These distinctive features can also be found in many of today's Pasha models.
Over the years, the Cartier Pasha has spawned a variety of variations, including the magnificent Pasha de Cartier timepieces, the sporty Pasha Seatimer watches and the elegant women's watches of the Miss Pasha collection. The characteristic feature that runs through the entire Pasha series is the round shape with the protruding sapphire crown.
In 1985, renowned watch designer Gérald Genta designed a version of the Cartier Pasha that is still valued today for its outstanding design.
The Cartier Pasha also served as the inspiration for the Pasha de Cartier women's watch collection (Ref. W31074M7 and others). In 1995, the Cartier Pasha C (Ref. W31058M7 et al.) was introduced, continuing the tradition and luxury of the Pasha line. The Cartier Pasha remains a timeless masterpiece of watchmaking and a symbol of precision and elegance.
Cartier Drive
The Cartier Drive, introduced at SIHH in 2016, is Cartier's latest collection. It impresses with its striking design and inner values. The company has given all Drive models an in-house caliber, which makes them particularly valuable. The Cartier Drive combines classic Cartier design with masculine elegance and timeless aesthetics. The rounded case shape, Roman numerals and the guilloché dial give the watch an appealing complexity.
The in-house caliber, developed by Cartier itself, is another reason why the Drive collection is so desirable. Despite its relatively recent introduction, the Cartier Drive already offers a variety of attractive models, including the Cartier Drive Gold and the Cartier Drive GMT with a retrograde second time zone and day-night indicator. A collection that appeals to men and continues the Cartier tradition.
Cartier Tortue
In 1912, Louis Cartier designed the iconic Cartier Tortue, a turtle-shaped watch and a milestone in watchmaking. The unique case, slightly elongated and curved, brought fresh designs to a time dominated by round watches and laid the foundation for future classics such as the Cartier Tonneau.
The Cartier Tortue is characterized not only by its external design, but also by its technical sophistication. In 1928, Cartier equipped it with complications such as the minute repeater and the Monopoussoir chronograph.
The Cartier Tortue series offers variety for men and women in different sizes, materials and styles, including gold, stainless steel, red or white gold, with or without diamonds.
A special highlight is the Cartier Tortue Ref. 2496C, an elegant hand-wound watch with an 18K gold case and a guilloché silver dial. Other models, such as the Tortue Perpetual Calendar or the Tortue Multiple Timezone, impress with sophisticated complications. In white gold, the Cartier Tortue with big date and small seconds (Ref. W1556233) presents itself in classic elegance.
Cartier's journey through time: from kings to icons
The history of Cartier, founded in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier, is a fascinating journey through the world of watchmaking and jewelry. As early as the 1850s, Cartier became a jeweler for the European nobility and high society.
In the early years of the 20th century, Cartier established itself as the jeweler of kings and queens, with the house responsible for some of the most spectacular jewelry, including the famous Cartier wristwatches, which were enthusiastically worn by European monarchs.
The breakthrough in the watch industry came in 1904 when Louis Cartier designed the first wristwatch for the Brazilian aviation pioneer Alberto Santos-Dumont. This Santos de Cartier watch was not only revolutionary in design, but also laid the foundation for Cartier's commitment to producing exquisite timepieces.
The 1920s were marked by the introduction of iconic watch models such as the “Tank” and the “Tortue”. The "Tank" was inspired by a tank and featured clean lines and an elegant appearance. The "Tortue" in turn presented a unique, turtle-shaped case shape.
Cartier expanded its creative repertoire in the following decades by introducing iconic collections such as the "Panthère" and the "Love" collection. The "Panthère" reflected the grace and power of the Panther and became a symbol of Cartier's artistic sophistication. The "Love" collection, on the other hand, became known for its iconic screw motifs and symbolized deep emotional bonds.
Today, Cartier remains synonymous with timeless elegance and luxury, having captured the hearts of watch and jewelry lovers around the world.
