Dive into our selection of used luxury diving watches!
Diving watches are not only beautiful for diving - they also appeal to people who value a sporty appearance. Classic diving watches include the Rolex Submariner, Rolex Sea Dweller, Omega Seamaster and Sinn models.
A prerequisite for a diver's watch is the ISO certification ISO 6425 or DIN 8306. In addition, the diver's watch must have a water resistance of at least 200m - this corresponds to a water pressure of 20 bar.
What distinguishes a diving watch?
The diver's watch is designed in such a way that it withstands the water pressure/temperature differences on the one hand and offers additional functions when diving on the other.
=> MY TIP:
If you actively use a diver's watch and the watch regularly comes into contact with water, have it checked regularly - i.e. annually - for leaks .
➡ Tightness is not a permanent property!
A clear readability of the time during the dive - especially when it is dark. To ensure this, the hands and the hour indices are coated with luminous material.
With the rotating bezel , the diver can see how long he can stay under water. It is easy to read and only rotates counter-clockwise - this is for your own safety.
Few case openings
Diving watches rarely have chronograph functions . Which is also understandable, since the watch offers more attack or incidence surfaces where water can penetrate. These are housing openings for the pushers, for example.
Screw threads on case back & crown
The screw thread for the case back and for the crown is extremely important for diving watches . They ensure that the case is protected as much as possible against any water entering the watch case.
The case material for diving watches is more solid and therefore more robust. In particular, the ingress of water not only puts a special strain on the body of the wearer, but also on the watch. Especially when water enters, deformations can occur in not so solid watch cases, which can affect the tightness.
Additional function helium valve
Another additional function is the helium valve, which the Rolex Sea-Dweller or Omega Seamaster watches, for example, have. This is a safety valve that allows helium molecules to escape during the decompression phase.
Luxury diving watches - that WE like
Buy a used Rolex Submariner
Did you know that the world's first diver's wristwatch came onto the market as early as 1953 ?
It was the Rolex Submariner .
Even back then, Rolex guaranteed water resistance to a depth of 100 meters. And today, the Submariner is water resistant to 300 meters.
Omega Seamaster for sale
In 1948 the Omega Seamaster came onto the market. A robust diver's watch that has a seahorse embossed on the back cover as an identifying mark. The Omega Seamaster Diver features a blue ceramic bezel and a dial with laser-engraved waves. The water resistance is 300 meters. The Seamaster is often associated with James Bond. For example, he has them in Goldeneye .....
Are you looking for a pure diving watch? Then we recommend the Sinn brand. The U1 model is the diver's watch made from German submarine steel. It is waterproof and pressure-resistant up to a depth of 1,000 meters. And also in an extraordinary design. There are only 500 pieces of this diving watch and we have one of them.
